  • Terrible

The software is very buggy and would kill the remote sessions arbitarily. The screen won't minimize sometimes. The good news is the browser version via cloud365 is not as terrible.

Remote Desktop is quite funnctional and launches fast. Compared to Citrix, password requests are less frequent.

This app is nice, but it lacks Kerberos support. I have several devices that are in Protected Users group and cannot use this app with those users. When will support come for Kerberos?

Sometimes it works on some things. and sometimes not on other. For example, even as it receives emails, it won't send. It asks for Smartcard but won't accept. Really is frustrating.

  • Reliable, but slow to reconnect

Microsoft Remote Desktop has been my daily driver for over a decade, to access my remote Windows PCs. It's reliable, but when there's a network change it takes a long time to reconnect. Additionally, it would be great to be able to use more than one monitor without using all monitors, in case I have three monitors and only want Remote Desktop to use two of them.
  • So much better than the previous version...

The only concern is when reconnecting to a Win 11 machine, the sessions state can be lost or get stuck on a loop in the client side and so I have to restart MS Remote Desktop which works fine after that

the CAC reader redirect is finicky. It randomly works and then when it doesn't it takes for ever to try to get it to work.

Running NINA an astrophotography application on a micro pc running Windows 10 mounted on my telescope. Allows me to effortlessly control the telescope from my Mac Studio at my desk.
