This app is horrible at what it says it’s going to do. It is very simplified and still manages to be horrible. I tried using it for 2 months and while I was entering all my information it decided not to save any of it and the next time I opened the app it was all gone. There were several other issues I had with the app as well.
  • This app is USELESS unless you spend $17.99/month or $79.99/year!!!!

Never regretted downloading an app till this one! There’s nothing about “in-app purchases” or the fact that you can’t do ANY of the things in the description unless you PAY $79.99!!! If I had that much to blow on a budgeting app, I doubt I’d need one to begin with. **TLDR: an app supposed to be the best way to budget and not go into debt, spend beyond your means, save you money and stop you from spending it on unnecessary things has a pop up whenever you click on ANYTHING saying you need to pay for the PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION for $17.99 a month or $79.99 for the year!!!! You can only do like 2 things without premium!!** I came across it when reading why affirm is bad. The Ramsay article said people shoild get this app instead of affirm since affirm’s intention is to actually put people into debt while this will do the total opposite. Budgeting is horrible enough to do, it’s even worse if you have to pay for an app to do it. You’d think the premium subscription would be considerate enough to make it affordable for their target demographic! There isn’t even any justification for what they charge! Basically, this app and it’s creators are hypocrites targeting the very people who can’t afford to buy things they want without using affirm, knowing spending money wisely and budgeting is their weakness and getting them to stupidly spend their money on their app! Despicable.
  • Latest updates are terrible.

I have been an everydollar subscriber for a few years. For the most part I like the app, but the most recent update has made it nearly unusable. It is very laggy and often loses the information that I just entered. Why would I want to waste my time inputting numbers just to have them deleted? I have to go to the website in order to get things right. Please fix it!
  • Why do I have to pay for all the good features ?

I watch a lot of Ramsey’s YouTube videos, thought I could start budgeting for free.

My banks are no longer updating regularly. They used to update several times a day. Now it’s every couple of days.

Like no other budgeting platform has EveryDollar improved my financial health. Been using the app about 5 years now and 90% of this time I’ve only used the free version. When I first started using it I didn’t grasp (I’m not a numbers guy) how it was supposed to benefit me. But once you start to get the hang of it and understand how powerful a Zero-Based Budget can be, it’s worth it. Even if you don’t get it from the outset and make mistakes, just keep practicing every month. Learn from mistakes and make adjustments. Over time you’ll continue to move the needle of your finances in the right direction. A couple of reasons I’ve docked a star (I’d rate the app 4.5 / 5) is because they occasionally make updates to the app that cause some frustration. The bigger reason for docking points is the “Start A Fund” feature. I’ve revisited this feature several times since they first implemented it but I cannot seem to get how it works. Without going into a lot of detail, I don’t feel it’s very intuitive. They actually have the Emergency Fund set to this by default. Some time ago it confused me so badly that I thought I had more money for emergencies than I really did because it listed a certain dollar amount as “Available.” But the simple workaround for me has been to just add a new line item and label it “Emergency” or whatever kind of sinking fund I need to save long-term for.
  • Love it, but now crashes

Latest update crashes when trying to edit budget amounts on all line items. Love this app…have used it for nearly 5 years! Please fix the crashing!

Everytime I try to add and expense like my car insurance the app closes its very inconvenient and frustrating, also needing to have a 12 character password is ridiculous,
  • App is unstable

I started using the app a couple weeks ago and I like how it’s set up. But, I have constant connection problems and I’m really hesitant to pay when my free time is up because I don’t want to pay for a subpar product. I don’t want to pay, log on and only receive error messages.

The app well pays for itself in stress relief alone. When you know what can be spent in each area, you feel like you have more money and have less guilt spending on “luxuries” when you can see the outlook for the month. My family has benefitted greatly from this app with seeing a full picture of our finances and making a plan to pay off debts and start saving.
