  • Live data doesn’t work with screen off

Paid for premium, but the live data collection doesn’t work unless you keep the screen awake the whole time by repeatedly tapping on it. If the phone goes to sleep, data collection stops. Same while using CarPlay, phone screen also needs to stay awake. They need to make the live data work in the background with the screen asleep like other apps.

Not user friendly. App compatibility, and premium features are not listed. List of compatible ODB2 divices not listed. Do I need a ODB2 device for my car?

App seems to be working again after a few weeks. UI is still a bit cumbersome so only 4 stars but glad to be back using it

I have had ABRP for at least 2 years and it has improved soooo much over time! The app is cleaner and more responsive than before. I love the option they have now (not sure when it was added) to share your planned route (with multiple charging stops) with Google maps! Excellent app!

Clearly people have very different experiences with this app. I use the app with Ford Lightning and I use an OBD dongle. The predicted battery use is very accurate under most circumstances with the app being a little conservative (which I like). For me it has been very easy to set up a route on the iPhone, iPad or computer and then it takes over in CarPlay. I do like the ability to plan route when I’m not in the car for later use. ABRP does not have the deep name place database that Google Maps or Apple Maps has and there doesn’t seem to be a voice entry option when using CarPlay. That would be nice. For the most part I agree with the programs routing choices for me, but occasionally they don’t make sense. I think this happens less often than in the past. Overall I like this program very much and it is my preferred route planner. I look forward to improvements.
  • Impossible to create a route

I’ve used this app for three years. It has always been clunky, but have great results that made it worthwhile. But it’s gotten unusable. I’ve entered waypoints but the Plan button is still disabled, and it offers no clue as to why.
  • It was fantastic, until I tried to drive and use it then it crashed.

I used it to plan and it was great but then literally at the start of the first road trip with it is crashed, and never loaded again. Everything else worked in CarPlay except this app. I force quit everything and ultimately had to uninstall and reinstall to use it. And I unfortunately lost all that tracking. I have the premium subscription and and OBDII port for live data. I was so excited but it didn’t work. 2020 Chevy Bolt iOS 17

I love this app. I really don’t understand the hate in the reviews. It’s an excellent app. I’ve done many road trips in my Tesla M3 and it’s really reliable for route planning. I don’t ever actually use it for navigation, but why would I when I have Google Maps in the Tesla anyway?
  • Still so buggy

This app still feels like a very buggy beta app after all this time. It changes routes without warning mid-trip. It is not able to factor in traffic conditions on a consistent basis. It looses connection with the OBD transmitter. You’re better off figuring out charging solutions on your own.
  • Doesn’t Work

Usually I do not write reviews but I have here because this app needs some work. It’s great in theory but just doesn’t work well enough to use in practice. Chargers missing on map, doesn’t calculate based on my SOC and I can’t put in mileage or mile/kwh for it to calculate a route. It always defaults to 95% charge so I can’t set a plan based on say being half full. Would also be great if it allowed me to input a recent model car (2023) but for whatever reason they aren’t in the app. I suppose the battery capacity and efficiency is all the same. Other than this, decent layout. Will hang on to it in case improvements make it so this is useful. PlugShare remains the best app for finding chargers and basic route planning.
