There is not particularly wrong with the app but at this point, other than notifications, there isn’t really much reason to use the iOS app over the website. The search on the site is significantly better. The has no apparent way to even view raw files—it doesn’t even let you copy a URL—while the site has all the neat features like git-blame, searching for symbols in and across files. It’d get a 4 or 5 with even some of these features.
  • Pretty solid app for keeping eye on my issues and pr on the go

It would be nice to have a more feature complete pr review toolset available right from the app as well as a simple text editor for the code, but i'm not really complaining.

GitHub has everything a developer could need, and is very easy to use and understand. The free tier is very flexible and does not hide necessary features behind a paywall. The mobile app has its limitations of course, but is otherwise great.
  • PRs show stale information

This had been an issue that caused need to do using the app.. recently started a new job and decided to give the app another go for managing PRs. Consistently the information shown in the app is stale regarding checks statuses. I see that a PR failed a check for PR titles for instance, which I thought I fixed 15 minutes ago.. I check on my laptop, the check has passed and is running other checks. I then sign into GitHub on a mobile browser and it also shows the correct status. I then check back in the app.. stale status.. I back out if PRs after swiping down to refresh didn't work.. no luck.. the app has perpetually stale data and I can't trust it.. Over made comments while working from my phone that have made me seem incompetent since everyone else sees the updated merge or check status but I'm operating off of old information. Wish it worked.

Need to write an issue? Great. Notifications? Works fine. Browse repositories? Fair enough. But some things seem very difficult or impossible to do from that app that are trivial to do from the website. They need to have more features like creating new branches. Great in general though.
  • Nice for looking around and review but..

Would be nice if it would allow you to create a new repo. Or update org or repo settings.
