I absolutely ADORE this app!!! My husband told me to try this!! This is worth every penny and it has helped me get into the Word of God regularly. It is absolutely amazing for helping me meditate daily, go through the Bible in a year, and soak in the Word of the Lord!

I start every day, listening to scriptures from Dwell. Amazing to find scriptures. I am visually impaired, and I’m blessed with being able to hear scripture.
  • Love it, worth the price, but still missing a key feature

I purchased a lifetime membership a while ago because I really do enjoy the app and the concept. I’ve even purchased the one year passes as gifts for people. While there are many other audio Bible options, as some have noted, and there is an aversion to paying for the service amongst certain individuals, Dwell has accomplished something very unique with this app! I love all the voices and the speed options, and background audio choices like waves, breezes, waterfalls, music, and more. Now for my gripe. A while ago they introduced the bell to distinguish between chapters but that’s still just putting a bandaid on pretty significant issue which is that chapter numbers and books aren’t announced. So unless you’re hovering near your phone you have to actively keep track of what chapter you’re on. This is detrimental in situations like Psalms where there are literally hundreds of chapters! Please, please, please fix this for real in the long term. I know it’s inconvenient to get the artists to record this after the fact, but if we really want to help people establish a firm understanding of God’s word we also need to be knowledgeable about where to find it. This is really a huge oversight and when I reached out to the team they mentioned they had a solution to fix it but the fix is more of a patch and it’s better than nothing, but for a paid app this feels like a really tough feature to do without, especially as I’m still actively learning scripture. So, proceed with caution if it matters to you what chapter or book of the Bible you’re listening to and you’re listening for an extended period of time. It’d be good to have this as a toggle feature where you can choose either the bell or an actual announcement of the book and chapter. Even if this can’t be retroactively done for certain narrators, it should be an option for new voices with a distinction that this feature is available for that combination of speaker and version. That said, thank you Dwell team for executing on the beautiful vision God gave you! I recommend for anyone to try it out, at least for a month! Cost wise, I’d argue people waste way more money on things that aren’t doing right by them physically or spiritually compared to the subscription cost. Nothing in life is free, brothers and sisters - even salvation which is a free gift to us required Jesus to pay the ultimate price! Really ask yourself why you’re struggling to support the app if you do have the means, and take it to God if you need to - I’m sure He will provide what’s needed if you’re really serious. They have paid staff so the funds have to come from somewhere, and most churches don’t have net zero expenses either (hence why tithes and offering are requested)! Bottom line, I’m thankful for the team at Dwell and happy to invest in what God is doing through this app! Prayerful that the chapter and book announcements will be introduced for certain voices as part of a future update!

I rarely pay for apps. But Dwell…..I am considering the lifetime membership. I play it when I am doing chores, or walking, anytime I can.

I was so excited I found a good listening tool but then Realized you have to pay 🤦🏻‍♀️ That was deceptive to let you download for free. Deleted!

A lot of the times when you have a playlist going and have a one or two second pause to reflect on a verse the app gets stuck and just doesn’t continue the playlist and you have to close the app and reopen it several times. Also, there aren’t many voices for a particular version that you want. The king James version only has three different voices to choose from. Also, when creating your own playlist you have to type in the book, the chapter and the verse. It’s not user-friendly in the manner of creating your own playlists. However, the idea of the app is a good one. Just has more polishing needed for an top level audible app

When you live in the world when everything has a price tag God’s word should not. God’s word is about helping to bring his word to everyone. There are so many free bible apps out there that offer some of the things your app does but with ads. I would happily watch those ads so that I can have access and understanding of his word and applying it to my life vs trying to find money to have understanding of God’s word. Everyone is capitalizing off God’s word and I know that it’s equivalent to the merchants on the Temple Mount. Will stay with the KJ Holy bible app.
  • Speaks too Slow

Some of these would be really good except for the fact that they will say one sentence and literally an entire 60 minutes go by whereby you think they are done and then they start speaking again.
